I had this dream… well, really, it was a nightmare. I couldn’t find water. I needed to make Owen a bottle. I turned on every faucet in my house – nothing. I drove to the store – no water. I went to a water fountain – nothing came out. I was desperate.

I woke up in a complete panic and recalled a conversation with JT about people in developing countries who don’t have access to clean water.

After gulping down a giant glass of water, I searched the internet for more information. What I found was horrifying. Women and children walk miles a day to collect water for their families. The worst part? The water they work so hard to collect can make them very sick.

My heart was broken for these families. What could I do to help?

Then I found charity:water. What I love about this organization is the transparency of their finances and the simplicity of their mission. 100% of every donation directly funds water projects around the world. How? They have a group of private donors who fund their operation costs separately.

When our project is complete (which takes about 18 months), they will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made!
