It baffles me that almost a billion people on the planet don't have access to clean drinking water and everyday 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. I mean, we're siting here talking about water?... Not food, not clothes, not medicine, but we're talking about WATER?! **Allen Iverson voice** It's the most basic of needs, how is the most abundant resource on Earth inaccessible to so many?

With the increase traffic to Facebook profile's during birthdays, it makes sense to leverage the attention for a good cause. The Charity Water organization does great work, and 100% of public donations will go directly helping those in need of clean water. On top of that, my company will match whatever is raised through this campaign.

Facebook says I have roughly 2,000 friends #NoNewFriends and if everyone was to donate $1 we would come close to my goal of $2,014... Happy New Years. And given a common resolution is to give back and be more charitable, I welcome you to start 2014 off right with a $1 or $2 donation. You can use your PayPal account and it will only take a few seconds to do. If the goal is met and with the company match, it would be bring 200 people clean water!
