Hi! My name is Bobby Curtis. I'm a professional long distance runner and I'll be running my first marathon on November 6th at the 2011 ING New York City Marathon. For every mile I run while training for the marathon (up to 22 miles a day), I will be donating $1 to Charity: Water. I have a goal of raising $5,000 for Charity: Water. But! I don't think I'll be able to run 5,000 miles between now and November 6th, so I need your help.
I'm having a prediction contest. For a donation of $10 (or more if you'd like), you can predict my finishing time at the ING New York City Marathon. Just leave your time prediction (seconds included) in the comments section when making a donation. The winner of this contest will receive all the benefits that go along with donating $5,000 to Charity: Water, including:
-Your name attached to a clean water drilling rig in Ethiopia
-A matching plaque for your home or office
-Photo and video updates of your drilling rig in action
-Real time GPS updates as your rig moves throughout Africa
-A pair of Reebok running shoes
-A free dinner with me! (optional)
I think that's a pretty good deal for 10 bucks! Please spread the word and help Charity: Water.
Thanks!
Bobby
