goal
Living in the Midwest, we sometimes dread our "April showers" that "Bring May flowers." Though, for nearly one billion people, such rain would be relished.
One in eight of the world's people are without access to clean water, and half of the world's schools are too. Not only is it the primary cause of death, as it kills more people than any form of violence or warfare, the lack of water also prevents many children from attending school.
In the next forty years, the world's population is expected to grow by over two billion. This burgeoning population will demand more food and water. This will likely lead to inflation, which is always accompanied by increased conflict. If we want peace, we must invest in our world. . .NOW!
Giving people water access would make a huge difference in our world. Hand washing alone would cut water-related deaths by 45%! In addition, it would allow women to acquire more equal roles in their communities and children to go to school, as they wouldn't have to walk miles each day to get their water.
Please consider donating to our cause. Together, we can make a huge difference!
Can you imagine wondering where your next drink will come from?
Come on people, a little goes a long way, lets get this going!, there are not a lot of people in keokuk, but $5 from each would probubly make a world of change!
