While volunteering overseas, I lived for a short time in Haiti and Cameroon. These are two of many countries that experience widespread hardship from a lack of clean drinking water. I have seen how this affects the lives of my friends in those regions, and I have committed myself to doing what I can to improve the lives of people who don't have the same privileges I do. I am the fourth and final member of my immediate family to run the NYC Marathon, and I am deeply honored to get to do so for the sake of people in great need. I love this work, and I pray the immeasurable impact of providing clean water to people in need will inspire others to become a part of it as well.
