i hate when people leave the water on when they brush their teeth. i'm a fan of the econo-flush. i would rather set my own lawn on fire than water it. yet when i take a shower, i wait until the water is warm before getting in. if there's leftover food on one fork, i do the dishes again. have a brita filter, but i buy smartwater just because i believe it will speed up my hangover recovery. i even laughed when @philipbobby and @king_habib kept the water running in their hotel room just to get their money's worth out of the nightly rate.
we're all assholes when it comes to water in some way. here's a chance to feel slightly better about it: my birthday is open bar and you're invited if you help pay for 250 people to have access to something that we take for granted.
if you're wondering why i set a goal of $4,999, it's because i'll be damned if i get a plaque (that happens at $5k) for our collective effort. there's also no way i'm going to tweet about running out of champagne at breakfast while another kid has to walk seven miles in 100+ degree heat just to get clean water that we're finding ways to creatively waste. if we exceed our goal, the donation that puts us over $5k gets to dictate what the plaque reads.
my birthday is 11/25. the date/location of my party is still in progress, but we have 92 days to change the lives of 250 people. don't be an asshole, buy them a drink.
