It's my birthday this month. I'll be 46! (Yes, 46. Hard to believe, I know ;- ) I've always loved to celebrate birthdays- it's important since life is so fleeting, fragile, and stressful sometimes! It's been a while since I've celebrated so I thought I would make this year extra special. It's been a tough year but I have a lot to be grateful for, and I want to thank everyone who is a part of my life, no matter how small a role you might play.
In honor of my birthday I'm asking one small favor. There is a cause that I strongly believe in, and I think you will too. I've always wanted to dedicate my birthday to this cause and this year is it.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink and we have gorgeous pools to swim in, as I did over the summer with my girls.

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

I'm asking that you donate $46 in honor of my birthday -- but anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. It really is quite cool.

I'm hoping that at least 100 people will donate to this campaign because I bet $4600 could go a long way! Before you know it, we'll all receive an email telling us a well has been erected in this small little village in Rwanda or Pakistan, providing water to an entire village! It's truly amazing.
