goal
There are 800 million people in the world without access to clean water. Help us eliminate that and our beards!
Whiskers for Water consists of seven bearded men (Billy Wooton, Andrew Earle, Chris Moran, Corey Martin, Eric Price, Wesley Tullis Jr., and Sam Papke) from Azusa Pacific University.
Each man has developed a deep connection with his beard, however, each man is willing to sacrifice that if it means saving and enhancing lives by giving the gift of water.
Help us reach our goal and we will shave the hair off our faces.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. The average distance traveled to retrieve water in Africa is 4 miles. This means hours traveled each day by women and children that should be used for obtaining an education or working a job.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand Filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
Please donate to our campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
In honor of my FABULOUS nephew. Both literally and figuratively, I cannot wait to see your face again!!!
This was money people donated to engage in the joyful act of shaving all the hair on my head.
Whew...made it! Can't wait to see your cute face again :-)
