I don't know what it's like to be without clean water. When I get thirsty in the middle of the night, I simply go downstairs with no hesitations. I take a shower, daily. I can afford a bottle of water when I'm out.
My privileges are not the norm for millions worldwide. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
To celebrate turning 26, I have pledged my birthday to charity: water to help build these types of projects around the world.
Please join me in celebration and donate to my campaign -- anything you can give helps! I challenge you to give up one drink you would've paid for this week and donate here, instead.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
