As many of you know, I am leaving Seattle and relocating to New York next week to join the team at charity: water in their audacious mission to bring clean drinking water to every person on the planet.
Seattle has been my home for 13 years. And you - my friends, my family, my coworkers, my church community - are the reason I have called this home.
It's tough to leave a community I have sown so deeply into, and I want nothing more than to bring you all with me. Giving to this campaign is just a token of that sentiment.
charity: water is offering me $5000 to assist in relocation costs. I started to wonder what it would look like for our community - yours and mine - to raise the same amount to go into the field toward actual water projects. Any dollar amount helps, and I will treasure every donation for the partnership it represents.
Additionally, none of the money given to this campaign will go toward my future paycheck - charity: water’s 100% model means every penny of public donations goes directly to water projects.
