I still remember sitting in Barnes and Noble on a cold December morning as I watched a staffer stack copies of “Thirst” by Scott Harrison. Upon seeing the jerrycan on the cover, my interest was piqued since I had been aware of charity:water for some years. Seeing the secular endorsements on the back cover produced an inner fear that Scott’s story wouldn’t be told in full.
Fortunately, this was not the case. “Thirst” is not only the story of charity:water’s influential work around the globe, but also God’s redemptive work in Scott’s life that propelled this organization. Since 2006, charity: water has funded over 120,000 water projects for more than 16.5 million people around the world. They partner with carefully-chosen local partners to build water solutions that are effective and sustainable for communities in-need.
Calvary Chapel Delaware County couldn't be more proud to partner with Scott and his team to bring clean drinking water to communities in need in our troubled world. charity: water will be our singular missional focus at our Sizzlin’ Summer outdoor services this year!
Always remember the words of Jesus when he said, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40)
