Hello family and friends,

I realize with the flooding in Houston, and a storm heading towards Florida, we are being asked to give a lot right now. I admit the timing is not ideal.

This is something I've wanted to do for a while. I wanted to have a fundraising campaign for this wonderful organization, Charity: Water, around my birthday. Seems like a pretty cool thing to do.

If we can raise $444, we can give 14 people access to clean water. Not a bottle of water, not a shipment, but permanent access to clean water.

I have over 400 friends on Facebook. If everyone donated $1, we'd make the goal. If you donate $4, we only need 100 donations (1/4 of my friends).

Yes, I have a "4" theme going on here.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
