Our friends recently wrote "with your generous hearts, the world is a better place." We could not have said it any better as we thank each of you. It's serendipity that there are roughly 140 donors, supporting a water project that will change the lives of 1,400 children; that's 1 donor for every 10 kids at Shyorongi School. Imagine the change and impact those 10 beautiful young people may lead once they have clean water supporting their health, education and empowerment!

My first 20 years with Starbucks is also 20 years of wonderful marriage to Millie. It has been extraordinary and full of impact thanks to thousands of people who have come alongside me. My friends, and especially Millie, are the heart behind all of the passion I've had these past 20 years.

I'd rather have my Starbucks 20 year anniversary not be about me. Instead, I'd like to do something that will forever change the lives and future of a whole community...

I found an unfunded water project in Shyorongi that would bring fresh water and working latrines to a 1,400+ student school. Today, most of the children and women in Shyorongi hike hours every day to gather water from heavily polluted rivers and streams that are full of bacteria that kills.

charity: water, a very reputable organization, will run this project and guarantees 100% of every dollar donated will goes to this Shyorongi school project.

If we reach the fundraising goal, this project will be completed in 2013 and every donor will receive documented proof via photos and videos with gps coordinates.

Imagine how the future of this village will change when all their kids and families have safe water and can focus on school and learning and building a sustainable future for themselves.

We know that Rwanda has been rebuilding their coffee quality and production. Perhaps someday, Shyorongi will be a source of great coffee?
