Instead of physical Christmas gifts this year, Matt and I are asking for donations to help us raise money for charity: water. We both listened to a couple podcasts with the founder, Scott Harrison, and decided we wanted to help. This charity is different in many ways; most notably is their transparency. 100% of all donations go directly to bringing clean drinking water to those in need (aka all 663 MILLION people that are still drinking dirty water). There are private donors that fund the operating costs, even the credit card fees! Every $30 donation brings clean drinking water to one person. They do this by looking at a specific community and deciding what the best and most sustainable option is. This can include drilling wells, building BioSand filters, or something else. Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

We started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and we are looking for anyone who can help us!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
