In just 5 weeks, we are going to climb to the roof of Africa. For 7 days and 6 nights, we will make the slow, arduous trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with our final destination at the summit, 19,340 feet!
That's 61km of blood, sweat, and no doubt tears, giving everything we've got. Of course this will be a challenge, but imagine doing all of that without clean water.
Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diarrheal diseases with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change this.
Our mission is to raise $5000 for water. We want every step to matter. $20 will provide clean water for one person for life. $100 will provide clean water for a family. And $5000 will provide for an entire community! UPDATE: Thanks to our amazing supporters we reached our original goal in just one week! Our new goal is $6500.
The best part: 100% of everything we raise will go straight to building water projects in the field. Then, when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us just where they are and who they're helping (with GPS coordinates, photos and other details). We'll be able to see the communities we've impacted.
Take a minute to reflect on this one luxury that so many of us take for granted. We hope you'll join us in helping today!
Good luck, Rhys!
