So on October 30, I'll be 38 years old. (omgz)

This year I've decided to donate my birthday to help people who don't have clean water. (that's a pretty brilliant viral-giving thing that Charity Water makes easy to do, more on them below).

Charity Water is a non-profit that I've known about for a long time. Since I first heard about it, I've gotten to know the founder, some of the employees, and many of the supporters. All of whom are rad people I vouch for.

One of the things I like about Charity Water is that 100% of donations go directly toward funding water projects (building wells and such) around the world. None of your donation goes to salaries, office space or that kind of thing. A separate fund takes care of those things. And the math works out to roughly 1 person gets clean water per $20.

Some background if you didn't know -- almost a billion people don't have clean water. In many areas, women and children walk hours every day to collect water for their families. Like, it's their job. And the water they collect isn't clean. See the video at the bottom of this page for more on that.

And after you donate, Charity Water will send GPS coordinates and photos of the water project you helped fund, if you want. It's cool.
