Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of all time, not only because of the beautiful lights, the music, the good food, but because we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Unfortunately, something happens every year that makes a little part of me die. We get so caught up in presents, spending money, rushing the malls, gifts, gifts, gifts, decorations, cards, and suddenly we completely forget who we're celebrating and what he was all about.

For a few years now, I've asked friends to not give me gifts for Christmas anymore. Americans spend over $450 BILLION on the holidays each year. It takes only $10 billion to provide clean water for everyone around the world. Something doesn't add up.

So instead of spending money this holiday season on that nose hair trimmer, or a gift certificate to that spa, give a gift that will bring hope to the hopeless, life to the dying and love to the needy. Please join me this holiday season in making it possible for someone to LIVE. You're giving the gift of life.
