Water is pretty amazing stuff. Our bodies are made up of 60% water, our world is 75% water, and obviously, we need it pretty bad to survive. Water is also scarce for about a billion people on planet Earth. Seriously, have you ever tried carrying a diesel can full of water that weighed 40 pounds for thirty minutes? I have. It's tough. Imagine having to carry that weight for three hours. Then double it. Then double that, and you're getting close to the measures some families have to take to get water every day. Then imagine it's not clean water, but water infested with deadly diseases...the liquid you've worked so hard to obtain is actually what is going to kill you. Sounds tragic, right? Absolutely. And what's worse is that we live in America, have clean water, and ignore the fact that our brothers and sisters across the world do not. But we can change that.
