Help me change the world, 5.3 gallons and 70.3 miles at a time.
Have you ever said, “I’m dying of thirst?” I know I have. And since I have a small problem with exaggeration, you know I didn’t really mean it. But unfortunately this statement is true for 748 million people around the world living without clean water.
If you’re like me, you don’t spend too much time thinking about water -- it’s everywhere we go. When we’re thirsty, we flip a handle or push a button. When we’re dirty, we twist a shower knob. When our cars need washing, when our ramen noodles need to be boiled, when we use the bathroom -- water is just an arm's length away.
But in many developing countries women and children walk for hours, up and down mountains, just to collect water that can make them really sick.
Help me play a small part in solving the water crisis -- donate to my campaign. In solidarity with the people around the world lacking clean water, especially our friends in Nepal who desperately need our help right now, I will be racing the Ironman 70.3 Mt. Tremblant on June 21, 2015. I'll swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles. I will complete the half marathon portion carrying the Jerry can you see in my photo above. Jerry can's are used throughout the developing world to carry water (mostly by women) from wells back to their homes and villages.
100% of everything we raise will directly fund water projects. And when those projects are finished, charity: water will send us proof in pictures and GPS coordinates, so we can see the actual people and communities we impacted.
Nice work at Mt. Tremblant!!
I'm glad to offer my contribution
Have a great run!
