Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. I'm gonna help change that!

Douglas Adams wrote that 42 was the answer to "Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything," but that everyone had long ago forgotten the question.

Me? I think it has something to do with the basic human right of getting safe water to everyone on earth.

So, if you've ever wanted to "buy me a drink for my birthday" how about you buy someone somewhere in the world 20 years of safe water instead?

I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year, but millions of kids around the world don't even live to see their fifth birthday. All they lack? Access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
