On September 22, I'm turning the ripe old age of 26. And this year, I don't want presents or drinks. I want clean water. Or rather, I want Rwandans to have clean water.

Women and children in Rwanda walk for hours every day, up and down mountains, just to collect water from rivers. And the worst part? The water they collect can make them really sick.

Terrible right? Well, we can actually do something about it. Just $65 can give someone in Rwanda permanent access to clean water.

So I'm asking everyone for my age in donations. Give $26 or $260 (or whatever amount that you're able) and help me meet my goal to provide life's most basic need to at least three families.

The best part is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects in the Rwanda (NOT marketing or administrative costs), and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made. I can't think of a better birthday gift.

Between August 22 and September 22, 2012, on top of all the other things I have on the go, I have also committed to running a total of at least 260km, biking at least 260km, and practicing at least 26 hours of yoga. I'm calling this my first ever "Nirvanathon" to challenge myself while also bringing awareness to the physical demand that carrying water has on the body.
