On August 13th I will be turning 29 years old. This is the last year I get to say, "I'm twenty something." It shouldn't be that big of a deal, right. I certainly didn't think so.

Then I was introduced to the water crisis that is affecting one billion people on our planet. That's right, one billion people are living without any clean water whatsoever! All the time! Every 19 seconds a mother loses one of her children to a water related illness...

This year I am giving up my birthday, so that it will mean something! Instead of a party or gifts, I'm asking for $29 or more from everyone I know. My goal is to raise $5,000 that will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations! Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to direct water projects costs, and each donation is "proved" and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.

Please help put an end to the water crisis and donate whatever you can! It really does matter and every dollar counts! We are all responsible for saving each other!

Everything collected for this campaign will be added to the Friends and Family of Zappos campaign so we can make one giant donation!
