This year, not only am I saying goodbye to my teen years, I’m giving up my birthday as well: to raise money towards building a water well in a developing nation.

Throughout the years, I have been extremely blessed and received many things that I did not need and often did not deserve. This year I wanted to find a way to give back.

One billion people in the world are living without clean water. Millions of these people contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. This week alone over 45,000 adults and children will die. But this is a problem that can be fixed. As little as $20 can give one person clean water for 20 years.

This year for my birthday I’m asking for $20 (or more) in honor of turning 20. My wish is to provide safe and clean drinking water to a village of 250 people.
