On October 20th, 2013 I am going to run the Beijing Marathon in honor of Lu Lingzi, the 23 year old Chinese graduate student who was killed in the Boston Marathon bombings. I was deeply inspired by the way she lived her life, and the courage she showed by studying in the United States in order to pursue her dreams.

The reason I chose charity: water is because 100% of the money we raise will be used to build clean water projects, and when they are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. Moreover, clean water improves health, education, and income -- especially for women and children.

Lu Lingzi's parents wrote, "While her dream has not been realized, we want to encourage others who have Lingzi’s ambition and dreams, and want to make the world a better place, to continue moving forward". Hopefully the money we raise will help others achieve their dreams, and honor her legacy.

2013年10月20日，我將以紀念吕令子的名義參加北京馬拉松。23歲吕令子是在波士頓爆炸中喪生的中國留學生。吕令子的生活態度，以及她為了實現自己的夢想到美國求學的精神深深感染了我。

我選擇“慈善：水源”這個基金會的原因是，它所有的捐助都會用來建設清潔水利工程。當建設項目完成後，“慈善：水源”將會把項目的照片和GPS坐標發送給我們，讓我們真切的看到感受到我們所幫助的項目。更重要的是，乾淨的水源是我們健康、教育、以及經濟發展的基礎，特別是對於婦女和兒童。

吕令子的父母寫道，“儘管她的夢想擱淺，但我們想鼓勵那些和令子有著同樣的雄心和夢想、希望讓世界變得更美好的人們繼續前行。” 希望這次所籌集到的基金能夠幫助其他人完成他們的夢想，並紀念她的遺志。
