Hello everyone...I was browsing Cakewrecks.blogspot.com today and was inspired by the campaign they are on right now. The site is meant for a laugh, but this month they have challenged their 80,000 viewers to donate a dollar a day to a new charity every day. After completing my donation, I got back the information that even though I had put in more than a dollar, I'd only helped one person. That didn't feel like enough.
I know everyone is sick of hearing about donating this time of year, but I really think donation should happen ANY time of the year, especially something like this, which commits to giving 100% of donations to actually building wells.
My cousin Micah helped build a pipeline for one of these wells, and is currently building houses. I have always been inspired by his work, and want to do what I can do join in. I don't have the resources to travel the world right now, but I can lead one of these fund raising challenges.
I hope you can all give what you can toward our goal of $5000, which would build one well for one village. We have such privileged lives, and it is wonderful to think that we can give a small amount and really make a large change.
Let's do this, and make a difference to a community!
Good luck with this project!!
Clean water is the shizznit, it's something like 80% of preventable diseases come from dirty water.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
