I'm turning 3o on March 21st! This is the first year that I can remember that I'm not planning a birthday party. Instead, I'm celebrating by gathering my friends and family around a project that really speaks to my heart.
When I was at the World Domination Summit (WDS) in Portland, OR last summer I saw Scott Harrison, founder of Charity:Water speak. He was one of the most moving speakers I've ever seen. He told us that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. (I went through an entire package of Kleenex during his talk.) We can help change this reality.
I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
Help me reach my goal and help kids get access to clean drinking water. Please donate to my birthday campaign!
Hope you had a fantastic birthday, Kate!
Happy Birthday Kate; and happy, healthy drinking to those deserving recipients!!!
