Did you know that 663 million people in the world live without clean water? That means 1 in 10 people don’t have that ‘luxury’. Every day 1400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation - 43% of those children being under five years old. Women are responsible for 72% of the water collected in communities in Africa, spending 40 billion hours a year walking to collect water.

We, on the other hand, have the privilege to drink and use clean water even from our toilet! But, we can change that. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

After I read Thirst book, I got inspired by Scott Harrison and how he changed his way of living and took the initiative to build up Charity: water, a non-profit organization that funds 100% water projects. So, I decided to celebrate my 27th birthday on 16th January by raising money for clean water, asking for donations in place of gifts, to raise $600 through this fundraising campaign ¨Faith that takes action¨. Any contribution you give to my campaign can save 20 people from around the world to get their lives back, giving them access to clean water, and also will benefit 16.000 lives more every week. Spending less time collecting water means more time for the kids to be in class, while it also gives women the chance to improve their homes, improve their lifestyle, and start their own businesses.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
