A friend and mentor of mine amazed me at the beginning of January, when after meeting him for lunch and having an impassioned conversation about charity: water and my love for this organization, he sent me an email later that night saying he was prepared to donate $10,000 in my honor to them.

Not only did this completely surprise and bring me to tears, it inspired me to do something more - by starting a Food + Water = Hope campaign, to help support our local organization Hopelink as well.

If you feel so inspired, in addition to your Hopelink donation, you can donate to charity: water as well to add to the $10,000 donation. (This was made to the organization by check, which is why it's not reflected here.)

We are also having a benefit / fundraiser with a Valentines Day theme on Sunday, February 13th, 2011 at the Wilde Rover featuring the Herding Cats!! You can bring your Hopelink donations that night, and a portion of the $7 cover will go to charity: water as well. These are both excellent organizations and thank you in advance for making this campaign a success - as well as a HUGE thank you to CB for being the catalyst for making this happen.
