goal
On June 5, I'm turning 42. I was starting to feel old when I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water.
According to a 2006 United Nations Human Development Report, it is estimated that every 20 seconds a child dies in this world from a water related disease.
Seeing that I have everything my heart desires, instead of getting gifts I'm asking every one I know to give a gift of $42 (or any amount you can afford) to CHARITY:WATER - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.
My goal is to raise $5000 by my birthday, June 5! I realize to a lot of people that $5000 is a rather large amount of money, but the way I see it is DREAM BIG or don't bother!
Remember . . . you get what you give . . . so give someone some clean water today!
Every 20 seconds, a child dies from a water-related disease. MAKE A DIFFERENCE and donate today!
