Many of us in the Bay area have been marveling at what is being called “The Miracle on the Bay.” So I wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate Oracle Team USA’s win in the 34th America’s Cup with another water miracle: bringing fresh, clean water to those with no access to it.
My friends at charity: water are helping build clean water projects around the world, and I want you to help me help them.
Here’s what they want you to know:
“Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.”
So, let’s take all the excitement and good will created by this incredible sporting event — and simultaneous Oracle OpenWorld 2013 — and create our own water miracle.
