On September 1, I'm turning 21! (And for those forwarded here by my brother, Jesse Chan, he has the same birthday as me)
At first, this seemed surreal, even daunting. I am now legally an adult and considered to be SUPER OLD by younger people. I mean, I am going to be legally able to drink and purchase alcohol as well.
But then I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Forget freaking alcohol, they can't drink clean water.
So I'm not scared of turning 21 anymore. In fact, I'm celebrating my birthday like never before.
I'm asking for $21 from everyone I know (because I'm turning 21) - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.
My goal is to raise $5000 by an arbitrary date several months past my birthday, 09/01. Probably sometime in late October, or early November. I'll keep yall posted.
Please consider helping me.
I will match the donations at a 1:20 ratio because I is poor college student.
Proud of you Son. Keep up the good work. God bless!
happy birthday texas!
congrats on your fundraising
