I'm not turning 40 this year. I'm giving my birthday away! Rather than having one big blow out party, I'm celebrating by gathering my friends and family around a project that really speaks to my heart.

When I was at the World Domination Summit (WDS) in Portland, OR last summer I saw Scott Harrison, founder of Charity:Water speak. He was one of the most moving speakers I've ever seen. He told us that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. The ones that do have to walk miles just to get dirty, contaminated water that makes them sick. Clean water is life-changing and life-giving.

So...I'm asking for my age in dollars (or any other amount) from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped and you can track your donation and see the direct results.
