According to a UNESCO report from 2008, over 1 BILLION people still do not have clean, safe drinking water. 40% of the world's population lack basic sanitation facilities - that's 2.6 BILLION people.
Approximately 1 and 2 MILLION deaths due to diarrheal diseases are attributed to poor water sanitation. Of those 1,000,000-2,000,000 deaths, 90% are children under five.
I don't want to live in a world where a family can't use the tap water to brush their teeth in their homes, bathe their children, or clean wounds without worrying about contracting more diseases.
$20 means one person can get clean water for 20 years. There is no amount too small to make a difference.
The lack of drinkable water is a solvable problem and we can be the ones to solve it. Please give.
