On October 4th, I turned 24, and instead of asking for gifts, I've been asking for $24 or more from everyone I know. It's not going to me, though. All of it is going to build freshwater projects for people in developing countries.

Almost a billion people in the world are living without clean water -- but how much are they really living? Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. 30,000 people will die this week alone (and about 90% of those will be children). The lucky ones won't, but still have to walk hours each day to get dirty water for their families.

To put it into perspective, about 1 in 9 peeple on our planet live without access to clean, safe drinking water.
It takes about $20 on average to bring clean water to a person living without it. So it would take about 1 in 9 people globally to donate $20 *once* to end the water crisis. That's something we can do in our lifetime.

Charity: water is something I really believe in, and I hope you'll support me in raising funds for them to provide clean water to real people I've never met, and likely never will.

The best part about charity: water?
100% of all donations go directly toward water projects. And about 18 months after this campaign ends, charity: water will show us where and how every dollar we raised ended up helping in the field. We'll see GPS coordinates, photos and more details about the communities we've impacted.
