On November 16 this year, I'm turning 22.
I'm hoping that this particular birthday will be a special one. What kind of special? Well, I've decided that I want to use my birthday as a fundraiser for charity:water.
Every cent of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in developing nations. charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months).
My goal is to raise $1116 by my birthday, 16 November. I want to believe that my friends are people who are willing to make a difference in this world, willing enough to use the amount of money that they would normally spend on a birthday present for a friend, on a present of clean water to people who really, really need it.
It'll be really amazing if all my friends gave so much that we hit the target of $1116. If we do, that'll be the best birthday present ever.
