Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. I'm gonna help change that!

My 34th birthday is almost here. I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year.
I'm like a little kid during my birthday and Christmas and any holiday that involves gifts. :-)

I get so excited because I love surprises. Recently I was saddened and surprised to learn that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water.

To put that into perspective that means my son Mandy who is 5 would be dead. Just the thought of that as I write this brings tears to my eyes. My heart is heavy knowing that parents have to bury their perfect angels.

We can help change that.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped. (That's cool, huh?)

Help me reach my goal of $6,810.
It will help bring 340 people clean water.

I hate asking for money but I figured since you were already going to get me something for my birthday you can use that money to help save hundreds of lives instead. ;-)
