In 2014 I had the opportunity to visit a remote village in RusRus Honduras and see first hand the positive impact that access to clean water can make in a community (pictured above).

Most of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

Charity: Water's mission is to save lives by delivering clean water to communities like RusRus with simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters.

I am starting this birthday fundraising campaign where I'm donating my age (30) to this cause. If 30 people make a donation of $30, 30 (coincidentally) people around the world will get access to clean water.

What is amazing about charity: water is that 100% of the money from public donations and fundraising campaigns (such as this one) go directly to building clean water projects. charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
