UNIQLO has partnered with charity: water in their ongoing effort to bring drinking water to every corner of the world.

Since September 2019, we have been charging 10p/c in-store for every paper bag, with 5p/c from each purchase being donated directly to charity: water to help bring clean water to those who need it most. UNIQLO's very first donations will bring clean water to communities in Malawi and Cambodia.

charity: water is a non-profit organisation striving to make clean water accessible to every person on the planet.

785 million people across the globe - that's one in every ten people - have little or no access to drinking water. As a result, more than 297,000 children under the age of five die each year from diseases related to poor water conditions or dehydration.

Easy access to clean water changes everything— especially for women and girls. It’s estimated that women in Sub-Saharan Africa spend a combined total of 16 million hours per day collecting water. With better access to drinking water, they are afforded better health, more time and greater opportunities.

charity: water works with carefully-chosen local partners who have a thorough understanding of implementing effective, sustainable water projects in communities and schools. Transparency and proof is shown in everything the charity does, with complete projects using GPS coordinates and remote sensors to monitor water flow. Since 2006, charity: water has worked in 29 developing countries and funded clean water for more than 10 million people around the world.
