We're not all great runners
But in 8 weeks, we're going to run a 5K for clean water!
It's going to require training, determination, endurance, strength and a whole lot of moral support.
But when I think of the millions of women and children who have to walk miles each day to collect water for their families, I think of how most of that hard-earned water isn't even clean. I think about how 30,000 people die each week from water-related diseases. They walk WAY more than 3.1 miles.
And then... yes. We can run. We can do it. But we need your help.
Our goal is to raise $500 for water projects besides the $20/per person we're giving for registrations. The best part: 100% of all donations go directly to water projects. You can pledge per mile, you can give a lump sum when we complete the 5K or you can just donate whatever and whenever you want in the next three months.
We've never done this before but we hope to do it again. And we promise to do it without complaining (right?!) After all, We all have fresh water to keep us going. That's more than millions around the world can ask for.
