I’ve wanted these headphones for three months now. They are called Dr. Dre Solos, and they are virtually the king of all headphones. So, as I’ve been planning, I was going to buy these for Christmas. They’re $200 headphones, and I’ve been pretty excited to get them.
But something inside me said I should do something fun with this. I love these headphones, but I’ve also had a bit of a thing for a group called charity:water for awhile now.
I met Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity:Water, this October at Catalyst in Atlanta. His story is really inspiring, and it really sparked a lot in me.
So— It is the Christmas season after all, the time of giving. I want to give you guys a brief challenge: before the end of the year, help me raise a bit of money for charity:water. I’ve set the goal at $200: a fairly modest goal.
It’s also the same amount of my Dr. Dre headphones. So what happens if we make the goal of $200? If we make the goal by Janurary 1st, 11:59pm eastern (that’s 9 days from the post date), I won’t buy my dr. dre headphones, and I’ll match my $200 goal instead.
I hope that doesn’t sound catchy or gimmicky. It’s certainly not what I’m going for. But I’d love to see us raise $400 for charity:water. It’d be a super great experience.
