My name is Ella and last spring I gave up my 8th birthday for charity: water. I met my $5000 goal which felt great but I just keep thinking there are still so many people getting sick because they don't have clean water--almost a billion.
Sometimes when you're a kid it feels like problems are so big that you can't do anything to make a difference. But it's not true. Little kids can do big things--especially if we work together.
So here's my idea: 100 for Water, at least 100 kids raising at least $100 dollars for charity: water.
Want to help? Make a profile on mycharitywater.org, join 100 for Water and get going!
How do you raise your $100? Get creative. Have a garage sale, a bake sale, a craft fair, babysit, mow lawns, host a fundraising party. Get help from your friends and family.
Let's see what happens when little kids go large for clean water. We might just put charity: water out of business.
Way to go, Ella - we're SO proud of you!
Very inspiring. In honor of our Godson, Tucker.
I raised the money by donating part of my christmas gifts and asking friends and family to donate.
I just read your story Ella. You're very inspiring.
