Hey everyone,

As some of you know, my birthday is coming up next week. Everybody loves a party but there's certainly better ways to spend our money in these times. A lot of us are struggling as the economy is as up and down as it's been for a few years now. As some of you know, I'm currently unemployed myself, but at the end of the day, my problems are certainly less important in the grand scheme of things when we look at what's going on in the world.

Here is the reality that many people around the world face everyday:

- Millions of people walk miles every day just to get water to drink
- Children skip school to lug 40-pound Jerry cans on their backs
- Family members try to nurse their brothers and sisters back to health after a waterborne illness has infected them

We all stress about our day to day lives but it pales in comparison to what millions of people do just to stay alive.

I want to help them. My mission is to raise $2500 in the next three months. I'm asking anyone who would've given me gifts for my birthday (or not!) to instead donate for clean water. Every penny you give will go straight to building water projects in developing nations. And when the projects are finished (about 18 months), charity: water will show us just where they were built and who is using them!
