The Waterwalk has become a constant at every year's charity: ball. We ask guests to walk a fraction of the distance an average person in Africa might walk each day to provide water for their families. Each time a person walks, a group of sponsors donate towards a well.
The Jerry Can was invented in World War One to carry diesel fuel, and has made it's way into almost every home in Africa, India and South America. To us it says "gasoline" but for a billion people on the planet, it represents water.
It's 40 pounds when full, and people all over the world use it to bring water home to their families. Water that often makes them sick.
charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects.
